KTRB What happened?

Okay I know I heard what I heard. I was at the tower site last night at 11pm, in my Buick, with Pepsi, and my friend Bill and his girlfriend Diane. I didn't hear anything on 680 but sports. What is up here? I know this was supposed to be the night because I saw the press release. Did they not do it? Around midnight I heard nothing but a bunch of noises with some guy talking about basketball or something. Is the testing not yet complete? Do they have to build another antenna? I didn't hear anything and we stayed until almost 1am but it was getting cold, and Diane wanted to go home to feed her cat. Did they not turn it on because I was there waiting? What are they afraid of? I worked on some of that site, I just had to leave for "personal issues" is all. Are they upset with me? If so, I will bow out. I was really looking forward to this, and it runed out to be a big baloon breaker for us. I had my cassette machine ready to record, but only noises.

Is this whole thing just a big scam to get me to wear out my car battery? If it is, it will not work because I have a Die Hard in my Roadmaster, and it is strong, and new.

I had the same problem -- except I was listening to 740 and they were doing nothing but news.

Great post, Howard. Let us know when you put the pictures up on the 'Net.

(PS -- KTRB/860 was on at midnight with a few seconds of the Grateful Dead, then went into IDs until 6 a.m., at which time they became, temporarily, "The Heavy 860." First song: "Piece Of MY Heart" by Janis Joplin. Sound quality? Outstanding.)
