KTRH changes the lineup, and so does The 9-5-0

Who are these listeners who want MORE Michael Berry? And why aren't they on medication? Poor Outlaw Dave, moved to nights on 9-5-0. What is KPRC's range after dark? Like a mile and a half maybe?

It depends where you live as to the ability to receive the station or not,

With regard to my last comment, I was being facetious and, wasn't thinking of two great local personalities on the 9-5-0: Outlaw Dave and Michael Garfield, who I have worked with in the past. My apologies, guys, and I do listen to you both!

I think Michael Berry should be on 24 hours a day, non stop. Think of the cost savings! And without sleep, he'll be one step closer to the loony bin, not that he's not already nearby.

FLASH! KTRH 7 PM NEWSCAST IGNORES TEXANS WIN...

Can you believe the game is over and the 7 p.m. KTRH newscast mentions "...and the Texans play the Bengals today..."? Either the newscast was recorded 3 hours earlier or the San
Antonio-based intern isn't trained in updates and rewrites...

KTRH did not have even one reporter at the Texans game.

This is not surprising. They are a 'news' station and this was a 'sports' event. Someone from 790 was probably there.

***They are a 'news' station.***

Correction Stanley. KTRH is NOT a "news station" anymore. It hasn't been a "news station" for some time now. They don't even pretend to be one anymore. They gave up their news credentials a long time ago.

And you are seriously wrong to imply that a news station wouldn't cover the local team's first playoff game in its history. That is NEWS, and any station claiming to be a "news" source would have sent a sports reporter to cover the sports angle, and at least one reporter to cover it from the local news angle.

News92 was there. Their story with photos is on their website.

Filo, I know KTRH is no longer a 'news' station, hence the quotes.

You're right - in the old days, sports made news and were covered by KTRH. Over course, it didn't help that they used to carry the Oilers games as well as the Astros for many years.

I was referring to the fact that the Houston-Cincinatti game had a local news angle to go with its usual sports angle. The sports guys cover the X's and O's. A local news reporter goes to cover the clearly newsworthy fact that the Texans had made it to the playoffs for the first time ever. That's big news for football fans.

Those are two clearly different angles, and a station that takes "local news" seriously would have assigned reporters to cover both.

Truth be told, I don't know if News92 covered that "local news" angle. I know KTRH didn't.

News 92 Fm had Craig Roberts and Jorge Vargas both there covering the game itself and Matt Sampsell was on top of the fan aspect, working the tailgaters etc.

I have listened to, and enjoyed, both of these guys. Michael Berry, no thank you. That nasal, whining voice and incessant ranting, are all too much for me.

If they switched Michael Berry with Michael Smerconish, would many people know the difference? ::)
