KTRH Runs The Michael Berry Show for Seven Hours a Day?

I see from the schedule that conservative talk host Michael Berry is on KTRH from 8 to 11 on weekday mornings. But then he's also on from 5 to 9 on weekday evenings. Isn't that a lot? Even at the height of his success, I don't remember any station running Rush Limbaugh for seven hours a day. A few ran a repeat of Rush at night but that was only for a few years when Rush hit his peak in popularity.

In addition to being on KTRH, Berry syndicates three hours of his program every weekday to other stations, mostly in Texas but a few other places too. WOAI San Antonio runs it from 8 to 10 p.m. KFXR Dallas airs it 5 to 7 p.m. But he's not on iHeart's Premiere Networks. Another company syndicates Berry's show.

I assume he isn't talking on the radio for seven hours a day. Do we know when he's live and when KTRH is rerunning a previous hour?

Premiere Networks does in fact syndicate Mr. Berry's show for two hours every evening, 5p to 7p CT: The Michael Berry Show | Premiere Networks.

I suspect both shows are live, with a segment here or there being prerecorded.

This isn't unlike Joe Pags, whose show you commented on an hour or two ago, who did a local show for WOAI and a syndicated show for Compass Networks. Sometimes a segment/interview would be shared among them, but they were mostly two separate shows.

KTRH is probably rerunning Berry's show from 7p to 9p. But I emphasize that is speculation.

Morning show is local, PM show is national. If you see anyone carrying two hours, that’s the syndicated show, which was self-syndicated until Premiere started syndicating him last year.

Interesting. So Premiere Networks offers two conservative talk shows broadcast from Houston at 6 p.m. ET/ 5 p.m. CT, Michael Berry and Jesse Kelly. Berry is based at KTRH and Kelly at KPRC. Kelly is heard on many iHeart talk stations but Berry on just a few, mostly in and near Texas.

So Berry does 8 to 11 a.m. for only KTRH. But he comes back to work at 5 p.m. to do two hours on the network. Maybe the 7 to 9 p.m. segment on KTRH is culled from his morning show? Unless a big story is breaking in the evening and he has to go live?

I know for a couple of years, Todd Schnitt did seven hours of talk a day, four on the WOR morning show in New York and three hours syndicated in the afternoon. It was a deal he kept from when he lived in Florida and hosted on WFLA Tampa. Then when he got fired from WOR, he got mornings on Classic Hits WRBQ Tampa, where he does four hours of DJing in AM and kept the PM talk show until 2021. But that had to be grueling.

Maybe Berry will wind up like Joe Pags. 🤞🏼

The evening is a completely seperate and Live show from the AM show.
