KTRH

Yesterday I caught a reading of Dickens' Christmas Carol on KTRH. It was from several years ago and featured such former KTRH personnel as Laura Morris, Laurie Kendrick, Daryl Azar and Bill DeWeese. I'm sure I left some others out, but it was late at night....

I remember hearing that years ago...wish i had known I would have listened. That's cool. Anyone know what happened to all of those air personalities??

Laura is market manager for the Infinity stations (KILT, KIKK-AM, The Wave), Laurie Kendrick was news director at KFNC, Daryl Azar is a flack (spokesman) in Austin and good ol' Bill DeWeese passed away in 2001, God rest him. Those were the only recognizable voices on "A Christmas Carol," IIRC...

I didn't know Bill passed away. Any idea of the cause? I worked with Bill (sort of) when KLOL shared a break room with KTRH back on Lovett Blvd in the early 90's. He was the ever-friendly guy at the news station next door - and a great newsman.

Any info appreciated,

Chuck

Awww, I didn't know he had passed away either. I googled his name and found a couple of references that he passed away of a heart attack at age 53. Unfortunately, he passed away just a few days before 9/11/01, so I'm sure his death got lost in the news coverage of the events surrounding that day.

I loved his voice and he seemed to have a true interest in the news he was reporting. Always sad to hear when we lose one of the good ones. :(
