I happened to be skimming through the KTRH website, and noticed a couple of new faces and changes. First there's Will Sterrett -- assistant news director, then Alan Scaia -- reporter. Roger Hudson WAS the news director, now it appears he's been demoted to executive producer (booking live guests and such)...and Bryan Erickson is back to his PD/ND job.

Anyone know whats up?

Eddie Barton - PM Drive Traffic - Fired? (picture is still on website - but have not heard him all week)

Real interesting to see how small:
the morning news team is / and how small the entire team is

Houston's smaller news staff

The only thing large about the staff is JP Pritchard: his ego, his flubs on air, and apparantly his size (barely fits into the pictures)

Remember, KTRH stands for "Keep The Resume Handy". It is a revolving door of people. ;)
 
Eddie Barton is still employed.
You've all have failed to report the biggest change at KTRH, the ratings. The ratings are better now than they've been in years. Yes you read it correctly. Lana and JP are 4th ranked morning show for A25-54. Rush is in the top 5 and Hannity is in the top 10. Doesn't look like KTRH is missing Baker much. I'd assume that the Astro's will only increase these numbers.Not bad, considering a guy with no radio experience is running the show.
 
So is August not with the station anymore? Nobody answered the question. Lana and JP are still probably the best morning anchor team in the state (as demonstrated by their latest of many TAPB "Best Anchor Team" awards). Reporters Bill and Mark are good guys and doing what they can under trying circumstances. The news staff has simply shrunk to the point it's hard for them to do more than phoners. "Back in the day" that newsroom (or at least the one in the Montrose) was packed with reporters.

august skamenca quit after roger got put on moring show - because they never let him go out in the field

elizabeth rose fired was 1 minute late to work

Elizabeth Rose had a history of problems within the company... esp. with mgmt.

It's such a shame. She was such a talented lady.
 
india must have read the email -- they updated the contact page to show Roger's new demoted title, removed august skamenca, and news director now points to bryan erickson.

but they still need to update the photo's page --

find some better picture of bonnie petrie.

photoshow JP to squeeze him into his photo

add nat fitz as the current amd traffic person (unless they are going to dump her -- that may explain why their is no photo yet)

Let me tell you. Liz didn't "only read traffic reports". She is one of the most experienced people in Houston Radio. She has done everything... and on every station. I bet you can't name one station she HASN"T been on... she knows the field, and knows what she is doing. There are few in Houston who can match what she's done... she's talented. Pure hard work and ability. So don't let your vision be blurred by your own jealously, because your radio career doesn't quite measure up... and you like to kick people when they are down.
 
I did not know that anyone talked about me on here. I can't tell you how extremely depressed I am about this. I left messages for Eddie Martiny, Michael Berry and Bryan Erickson asking them to consider this a suspension w/out pay but have not heard anything back. I was in a terrible car wreck and totaled my Explorer and to have had Bryan tell me that if I am late one more time I am fired. Well I am not going to get killed and leave my two children w/out their mother because you want to fire me. He will never get the talent that he had and even though they fired me, I still would go back in a heart beat if they would just wise up and think about it. I have been in radio for sixteen years but have never reacted so depressed to change. I have not slept or eaten since Easter and I am in total denial. I miss Marc Sherman that's for sure - they even said I could still track for him but he has not responded. I guess once you go no one will ever speak to you again. Its not like I am not busy, I am a Professor at HCC Central and HCC Southwest teaching students not to forget where you came from.
