KTRK Houston "sign off" national anthem

I was up late tonight and had the TV on but not really looking at it, then was surprised to here a sign off /sign on type announcement from Channel 13 with aerial views of Houston and info on their frequency and transmitter power, then going into the National Anthem at 2:38 a.m. They didn't sign off, the station joined ABC World News Now in progress. Just has been so long since I have seen this of what once was a staple before the TV stations all went to 24 hours.

Also, FYI, this morning was the 5,000th episode of ABC World News Now.

I think they even redid it in HD recently. Love how they refer to their specific frequency of "210 to 216 megacycles...it is by authority of the Federal Communications Commission".

It makes more sense to do a sign on to begin another broadcast day. I recall hearing WBBM out of Chicago do this every morning even though they were 24 hours.
