KTRV to switch to ION

Nampa-based KTRV-TV will change its affiliation to ION Television network by Oct. 1.

Block Communications Inc., the station’s parent company, made the announcement Wednesday in a news release. KTRV has been affiliated with My Network TV since 2011, but it offers two hours of programming a day, according to the release. The station has to fill the remaining 22 with other syndicated programming.

ION offers programming 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

“We felt the timing was right to move to a more immersive network,” BCI Chairman and CEO Allan Block said. “Our viewers will experience a more innovative and entertaining KTRV, which we will be proud to bring to Boise and western Idaho.”

Who will pick up MNT in Boise? (Although RabbitEars still has KTRV airing MNT from 8-10pm.)

According to Rabbit Ears, My Network TV is on 12.2.
