KTSA Dead Air?

Was just listening to KTSA on my morning drive. Mostly dead air, with occasional dips into Dave Ramsey for a minute or two and Karen Clauss doing mic tests over top of those.

What's happening over there?

It's back up now. I just checked.
Yep... I heard them later in the morning when I was out driving at lunch time. Must have been something terribly wrong for them to have so much dead air during AM drive.

It seems that ever since BMP bought KTSA, dead air has been a regular part of their schedule. Day or night, KTSA usually vanishes completely, leaving whatever Mexican station that shares that frequency to come through, or its various quantities of dead air, only to return in the middle of a program as if nothing at all happened. No apology, no explanation, no nothing. I guess they just don't care anymore or they can't afford or simply refuse to pay for a live, breathing, knowledgeable and qualified engineer to stand watch over the robots.

92.5 The Patriot's worse. I've heard dead air, tones, and other nonsense - it's a regular part of the schedule.

Mexico is actually pretty wide open on 550. The closest station is in Cd Cuauhtemoc, Chihuahua, more than 450 miles away. KCRS in midland is much close, 260 miles way.

Those stations should do a courtesy sign off and play Simon and Garfunkels "Sound of Silence" and tout those stations as "The New Sound of Silence 550 KTSA and 92.5 KRPT with a new sound, no sound that is but dead air"
