KTSA radio to carry live NASCAR racing

San Antonio radio station KTSA-AM is bringing live NASCAR racing to its airwaves beginning March 19.

The CBS Radio station has teamed up with Performance Racing Network to bring the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series to San Antonio listeners starting with Sunday's Golden Corral 500 from Atlanta Motor Speedway.

In all, KTSA will carry live coverage of 10 NASCAR Nextel Cup events, including the Radio Shack 500 race from Texas Motor Speedway on April 9. KTSA's racing coverage will culminate with the Dickies 500 race also slated for Texas Motor Speedway -- which is near Fort Worth.

"We are excited to be the only radio station in San Antonio where listeners can hear live broadcasts of the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series," says Reid Reker, market manager for CBS Radio/San Antonio.

KTSA will also air Performance Racing Network's Garage Pass weeknights at 10 p.m. The show, hosted by Mark Garrow, features the latest NASCAR news and information.

NASCAR season runs from February to November. Seems to me like it meshes nicely with the NFL season, which runs from September to January/February. I can't imagine KTSA would ever pre-empt the Cowboys for NASCAR. I wonder if the NASCAR programming will get bumped over to Jack when it conflicts?
