KTSW Anyone?

Who can get KTSW in the San antonio/ Austin Market? That station is Crazy but plays good rock, they were even playing "game" tunes from a real rock band playing. I wish I knew who that was, they play it from time to time. They even or use to play drum & bass techno and electronica plus electronica rock. pretty cool.

I wish I could get it in Austin proper.... sometimes it comes in while driving around town but it's hit or miss. Great station! Wish they would move the xmitter up to San Marcos instead of New Brans.

I've heard KTSW in north Austin on the car radio, but it appears that's the very northern fringe of the signal. A sensitive home receiver with a decent antenna could probably pull in a listenable signal, though.

The northern sections of San antonio probably get the best shot at KTSW, there tower is just south of New Braunfels they have a pretty decent signal, it'll probably make pretty good on the southwestern side of Austin.

yeh the northeast side is a good area to get KTSW. I would listent to them all the time in high school while everyone was listening to NSYNC or crap on The Beat. I would always get to hear "Idioteque" by Radiohead on there all the time! Great college alternative music is played on there....something that is pretty rare these days.

Wow that's crazy.... today someone from Chicago called and asked if San Antonio gets this station... I told them "never heard of it"... doh! :D

This weekend I'm gonna try and setup something indoors to try and pull it in, rather than speaker wire in a T shape on the wall. Tonight while driving around, it was more hit but still some miss for me. I'm in NE ATX.

You can get what I got a 12 element antenna from radioshack there about 23-28$ but mine is about 20' up in the air I can even pick up Houston if I wanted to I'm just south of Austin ;)

I'm in an apt. I do have a dish on a 10-12 ft pole to clear the roof. I reckon I could stick something on it as long as it's not an eye sore.

You'd be surprised at what you can get with something that high, depending on what side of Austin you are in, you might could even pick up Dallas! I can pick up KBNL 89.9 in Laredo most of the time I can hear it inside KTSW, sometimes when KTSW is off the air for some reason I can usually get a good clear signal of KBNL.

I was at one of the Texas State (SWT ;D) playoff games last fall and trying to listen to the game on my walkman. The signal was fair to poor and I wondered why a college radio station had such a weak signal ON CAMPUS. I later found out that the station's tower is near New Braunfels (15-20 miles away) Go figure.

I remember back in the highschool days when we would listen to the kcti polka club when kcit was on 106.3, funny everyone else out at the parkenlot was listening to the beat 104.3 we were listening to that with our loudspeaker ;D
