KTTF Goes Solo

First Fone 65

Tomball KTTF- LP. 95.3 FM

Went solo July 1st, and is no longer simulcasting with Magnolia at the present time.

Joe. The Blue tooth feature works great on the Arrakis ARC-8-Blue board, just connect your mobile device to it and You can patch phone calls, music from Your mobile device , it has Wifi connect and call lights which are helpful, only problem with patch is no delay, but ok for many uses where loose tongues are not a known problem. KTTF now scrolling RDS.

So...a question here, since we now know what KTTF-LP is not doing.

What is it doing?

Hey Perp, You tell Me, listen and if You can hear it, let me know what You think about all aspects, Music, audio quality, RDS information, I would like some reports.

I'm about 13 miles from the KTTF transmitter, near Beltway 8. While the signal strength is surprisingly good, quite frankly the audio quality is horrible. It sounds even worse than AM radio, approaching phone line quality.

You really need to monitor the station on good quality receivers and speakers that deliver a full frequency range, and also compare yourselves to how the other FM stations sound. For instance, KMAZ, with only one watt of power, nonetheless delivers very full and rich audio quality.

I wish KTTF well, but if they are going to be taken seriously then some audio quality control should be in order. The current audio output is, unfortunately, unlistenable.

At the Neyland tower all I hear is Christian music... probably the 95.3 from Friendswood.

Probably so. KEPH runs Christian teaching during the day, and music at night, at least from the times I've been able to listen to it. I think their website has a full program schedule.

Katy Freeway at the West Loop is about as far as I've been able to hear KEPH. It's also the farthest I've heard KTTF.

Frog, Thanks for the report, The station has a Orban audio processor built in, which should make for good audio when we get it set up correctly, which I thought happened yesterday with new software down load, but apparently not. it is a work in progress, glad You are hearing the 9 watts 13 miles away. Hopefully will have better sounding audio soon.

Wish I could help you with a report, First Fone. I am located just NW of Joe's tower on Neyland. Like him, I get only flashes of both the Friendswood and Tomball co-channels. Doesn't help that I have that pesky "praise Allah" translator next door, either. No sign of KTTF-LP on my frequency check.
