KTU actually playing some current Dance

Not much, but I did see cascada-what hurts the most is being played. Is this a sign of things to come, or just a fluke because its cascada?

Ive also observed that KTU seems to be playing less disco these days, and seems to lean on Freestyle and 90s Dance... (perhaps I just caught a good sample hour IDK) But why the heck are they playing stuff like marroon 5, I like the band, but they shouldnt be on KTU, thats z-100 music.
 
They've been playing What Hurts The Most even before Pulse launched. Although Pulse doesn't have a good signal in the suburbs, it is strong in the city, and KTU has a reason to worry about them.

KTU will only play the most popular of current dance and Cascada qualifies. But for the once in a blue moon I pass 103.5, I have heard 90's freestyle and dance (and the freestyle fans who complain about not hearing enough of it on Pulse 87 are being sucked in by 'KTU....sorry, but it just holds things back, even when Pulse 87 plays some classic freestyle....okay, let me have it! LOL) And they play Maroon 5, Duran Duran. Yup. Nothing has really changed there.

And my buddy Jimi, 'KTU has to worry for one reason...their numbers have been steady throughout the years they have had the rhythmic A/C. The numbers haven't gone down but have not gone dramatically up either. Pulse could take a small chunk out of 'KTU come next Arbs and the PPM (not the one that recently came out for February...the next one).
 
yeah, but their numbers were worse when they were playing the currents of the moment a year or two ago;
their numbers went up when they dumped the currents;
they're probably more than happy to let pulse have the currents all to themselves

Granted, Pulse is not going to grab every single person. Based on their signal if Pulse does take a bite out of 'KTU it will be a small chunk. And yes, there are still people out there that do not know Pulse exists! Which is why I am hoping they get some sort of big campaign going soon...definitely in the summertime to bring about some sort of awareness.
 
One of the most interesting things about KTU as it stands now is that it's 2007 revenue was down 4-5 million according to David Hinckley in todays Daily News. Z100 picked up about the same amount.

In 2006, KTU was number 9 on the revenue list, this year it's #11. Z100 was #5 in 2006 and is #4 this year as WFAN takes a hit from losing Imus and the major billing he brought it.

granted Pulse's signal isn't as strong, But KTU and Z100 have made slight changes since the arrival of Pulse. KTU has been getting a little more current and playing a lot more remixes that the weren't before and Z100 has started playing more dance in their rotation... I don't believe Z100 has made a lot of changes but it's clearly obvious that KTU IS reacting to Pulse's presence.
