KTU is now what 5th in the ratings? second in cume? That "tired old radio station" has been climbing and does play most of the artists coming to Beatstock.... Pitbull (yes); Kelly Rowland (yes); Cascada (yes); September (yes); Kevin Rudolf (yes); Kim Sozzi (yes); LMFAO (yes); V Factory (yes); Guru Josh Project (yes); Chris Willis (yes)... To those who haven't been listening to KTU, it's most suprising the artists they don't play, are the older ones off the Legends of Freestyle lineup; where they basically get play only on Sunday with Judy Torres, especially since Michael's death were the Freestyle slots in the playlist were filed with MJ songs....
Though it shouldn't be too suprising, considering most CHR's are playing most of the Beatstock lineup... For those that haven't tuned into KTU since Pulse came around or only listen online, where the KTU feel is even older because of the gold tracks played over the commercials... I said it last winter, that it felt like KTU was leaning more to current pop, than disco... and that a lot of the disco golds were replaced with 90's - early 2000's recurrents in the playlist and having just looked over it, they have even less rotation than even I thought.
Beatstock has been a KTU show for years, they and the promoters have the cash to make it happen and artists have as little loyalty as stations, so they'll go where the money is, and for a weekend they'll be Pulse who as KTU and partners sign their checks.
