KTU dropped the freestyle music since last month

Folks, since last month KTU has been dropped the freestyle music after considering and let's forget about:

Classic Dance
Smooth Jazz
Urban Talk
Hot Talk
New Rock
Contemporary Christian
Spanish Oldies/Classic Hits/Recuerdo
Jack Format
and Oldies
for now.

KTU doesn't even play half the artists on the Beatstock lineup. Pulse Airlines flight 87 should fly by Beatstock again this year (last year, a banner plane that promoted Pulse 87 flew over Beatstock). Would also be great to have the Pulse van parked in front.

And I'm disappointed that it's the same day as Party 105's Mega Jam. Last year's Mega Jam lineup was incredible, this year some of the artists that would have played at Mega Jam are at Beatstock. It's so sad that most of the KTU listeners won't even know who those artists are. It just seems messed up that KTU is taking advantage of Pulse 87's listeners by having all those artists that only Pulse plays and KTU doesn't.

I never noticed that KTU dropped the freestyle since I never listen to that tired old radio station anymore.

Beatstock lineup: PITBULL, KELLY ROWLAND, CASCADA, SEPTEMBER, KEVIN RUDOLF (Jones Beach event only), KIM SOZZI, LMFAO (PNC Bank Arts Center event only), V FACTORY, GURU JOSH PROJECT & MORE!!!!

Pulse played the hits of every single Beatstock artist before the other stations.

KTU is now what 5th in the ratings? second in cume? That "tired old radio station" has been climbing and does play most of the artists coming to Beatstock.... Pitbull (yes); Kelly Rowland (yes); Cascada (yes); September (yes); Kevin Rudolf (yes); Kim Sozzi (yes); LMFAO (yes); V Factory (yes); Guru Josh Project (yes); Chris Willis (yes)... To those who haven't been listening to KTU, it's most suprising the artists they don't play, are the older ones off the Legends of Freestyle lineup; where they basically get play only on Sunday with Judy Torres, especially since Michael's death were the Freestyle slots in the playlist were filed with MJ songs....

Though it shouldn't be too suprising, considering most CHR's are playing most of the Beatstock lineup... For those that haven't tuned into KTU since Pulse came around or only listen online, where the KTU feel is even older because of the gold tracks played over the commercials... I said it last winter, that it felt like KTU was leaning more to current pop, than disco... and that a lot of the disco golds were replaced with 90's - early 2000's recurrents in the playlist and having just looked over it, they have even less rotation than even I thought.

Beatstock has been a KTU show for years, they and the promoters have the cash to make it happen and artists have as little loyalty as stations, so they'll go where the money is, and for a weekend they'll be Pulse who as KTU and partners sign their checks.

BTW - if you didn't pick up my response to the topic... I think Freestyle got bumped (as did all other music one weekend) by Michael Jackson toons, as KTU and fans celebrated his musical career. I'd expect it to start regaining its spot in the playlist as we move farther away from his death.... though I could be wrong... but it's disappearance on the playlist coinsides with the ramping up of MJ.
