I've read that KTU doesn't even host mixshows on the weekend anymore.
Why not try and appeal to Z-100 to step in? Dance mixshows are very popular on the weekends at CHR/Pop stations like Y-100 Miami (House/Trance till 4 AM on both Friday and Saturday nights) Q-100 Atlanta, 93.3 FLZ Tampa (from 7 PM till 3 AM on Saturdays, and from 10-2 on Fridays, with Open House Party on Sunday nights), Kiss 108 Boston, 106.1 BLI Long Island, K-104 Poughkeepsie, Kiss 95.7 Hartford, Mix 96 Montreal, 94.7 Hits FM Montreal, Z-103.5 Toronto, 102.7 KIIS-FM L.A., Z-95.3 and 94.5 the Beat Vancouver, Wow 92.7 Key West, 107.9 The End Sacramento, Channel 933 San Diego, Mix 93.3 Kansas City, 94.9 ZHT Salt Lake City, the Energie stations in Quebec (including Montreal, Quebec City, and Ottawa), FM 107.1 CIBM Quebec City, Q-107.5 Memphis, B-103.9 Ft. Myers, 104.5 SNX Grand Rapids, Hot 103 Winnipeg, 95 SX Charleston, Bob 93.3 Greenville (North Carolina), Wuhu 107 Bowling Green (Kentucky), Magic 98.5 Cookeville (TN), 106.9 Kicks FM Cookeville, Z-103.5 Halifax, 107.5 The River Nashville, Q-97.9 Portland (Maine), WBNQ 101.5 Bloomington (Illinois), Mix 96.1 San Antonio, U-93 South Bend, 96.5 WAZY Lafayette,
All these stations have Dance mixshows that DON'T focus on Hip Hop hits, but rather real Dance.
Some CHRs run syndicated/taped mixshows like these

Don't even get me started about CHRs outside the U.S. and Canada. Practically every CHR in Europe hosts good Dance mixshows on the weekends. There's no reason why a CHR in New York can't put this on. Z-100 can prolly get away with a good Dance mixshow every night of the week after 10 PM, or at least do something similar to Y-100 Miami which has mixshows Wednesday-Saturday.
