KTU now playing '80s, '90s and today on Rhythmic AC

I guess this should leave a torch to CBS-FM for more 70's dance music. Now it's back to where it used to be since KTU at 103.5 first started back in 1996.
 
Duran Duran/Kajagoogoo/Go-Go's/Romeo/Noel etc, were songs that fit quite well on several dance stations in the 80's & 90'. Does anyone remember the term "Churban" . Several Rhythmic AC stations that have expanded their playlist to include pop dance songs are doing well. There should be no reason That the "Safety Dance" "Hungry Like The Wolf" and "One Night in Bangkok" should not go well with "1999", What Have You Done For me lately" & "Wild Thing" Actually a well researched RHY AC could have a playlist of 750-800 great songs. They also trim back on the Justin Timberlake & Mariah Carey Songs. Will To Power, Pretty Poison, Expose, and Stevie B. Would also fit well in the mix in some markets too. Cut back the currents, and play the great Rhythmic hits (but not the same 200). I'm not suggesting this (the consultants will roll their eyes but) How bout throwing "Move Out" by Nancy Martinez or "Serious" By Donna Allen in Rotation. :eek: Just a thought
 
I think the whole point of the discussion is that KTU really hasn't played these more new-waveish 80s tunes ever since launching in 1996. They have, however, played the likes of Stevie B, Expose and Will to Power (all also staples on the Original Hot 97 back in the day), and still do quite often.
 
Now if they would back off on the crunched up processing, that would be nice.....

The only good-sounding Clear Channel station in New York City is Q-104.
