KTVU Ch. 2 TV Programs

There a show I used to watch at 5pm in the 80's

I think right before Silver Spoons

4pm - Transformers
4:30 - GI Joe
5pm ----
5:30 - Silver Spoons

I don't have any old TV Guide listing,

KTVU is located in Oakland, CA and was probably the most financially successful former independent TV station in the country. It is now a Fox affiliate.

Mario - if you ever find out who has old Channel 2 listings I am still looking for the real name of an afternoon children's show performer known as "Mr. Bob" from the early 60's. He hosted a Three Stooges fest every weekday afternoon.

While KTVU was a very successful independent for many many years and I remember it well when I lived in Merced back in the 70's I do think the most successful indie in the country would go to Gene Autry's ownership of KTLA-Los Angeles.

Also if you needed to know the 5pm show on KTVU back in the late 70's I could have told you it was Captain Cosmic with Bob Wilkins (I think).
It was either that or Batman.

The show I am referring to came on weekdays at either 3 or 4 local time. Bob Wilkins was not the host. KTVU has (or had) a pretty comprehensive history site but didn't have "Mr. Bob" listed anywhere (although did list Wilkins and several others).

An update, 'tuna: KTVU is now a Fox owned station. As I understand it, Fox recently got Cox (pardon the rhyme) to trade KTVU for a couple of lesser stations in smaller markets.

Though I never saw Mister Bob, it does sound obvious that Bob Wilkins was the man in the title - Wilkins being mostly famous for hosting Creature Features, with a big cigar as his co-host.

Thankx for the update.

I would have thought so too but no, neither the face nor the voice matches the "Mr. Bob" I remember.

I lived in the Chicago 'burbs in the early 80s and we had Cox for cable. We used to get KTUV there. There's only one two...Woooo.
