What is the latest on KTWL 103.5 Hempstead, TX, Are they back on the air ?

According to radio locator, both KTWL locations, current site and new CP site are both OFF THE AIR. I wonder how many licensed facilities across Texas and the US are licensed but off the air due to one Reason or another,

ATTN: FRANK Your the go to guy for information stats, what data do you have on this subject of silent stations, both with STAs and ones that just aren't on the air ?

You mean 105.3. A 103.5 in Hempstead would get clobbered by KBPA.

STAs are hard to track on the FCC CDBS. There is a list of silent stations on the FCC Media site. Any not on the air less than 30 days do not have to file a STA.

Magnolia's Backyard Radio holds its own against Bob. I'd say a co-channel station in Hempstead is feasible. Let's stare some facts in the face for a moment. Tthere's an active CP for channel 300 from Cinco Ranch. Now, there's a clobbering just waiting to happen. It just takes an operator having the desire to occupy 103-5 in Hempstead, for whatever reason.

:cool:Purple, Hempstead is not that far from Magnolia as the crow flies, not sure there is enough spacing for 103.5 and Cypress KCYB also 103.5 is located close to I99 and Hi way 290 just down the road from Hempstead, don't know if it will make that spacing requirement either.

Hempstead is about the place KBPA dominates with no more dropouts or picket fencing. A few more miles down the road - full quieting in stereo. Way before Breham - HD is pretty solid.
