KTXA Weathercaster Amanda Sanchez

I was watching TXA-21's newscast and noticed CBS-11's Jeff Jamison doing weekend weather. Amanda Sanchez, who was originally hired to do that no longer has a bio on the station's Web site. Does anybody know what caused her departure after such a short period of time?

She didn't work out. Her preparation was little if any.

At least Jeff is getting some more on-air work...The guy has talent and skill, too bad they wont use him to replace kristine colonic..er..kahanic

Why wouldn't a person working a job as a weather broadcaster, prepare for their job that night? Did she just sit on the soft part of her a * * ????

I personally like Kristine Kahanek. Much better than Pete "Pretty Boy" Delkus. That guy is a robot !!

Funny thing, I thought 11 and 21 were not going to share on-air staff for this experiment.

There are many TV weathercasters/meteorlogist who aren't very good. They may look good, be the right sex or race, but put little into their craft because they are either lazy or simply lack knowledge. One of the laziest TV meteorologist I've ever known was a legend in Texas and had a full degree from A&M. He simply did next to nothing, copied the National Weather Service forecast, and people thought he was great. Mainly because he had managed to survive and stayed on the air for so long.

There's another guy I know in a medium sized TX market who owns the market for weather. He never took a meteorology class, never was interested enough, and he also just re-words the National Weather Service. He is the king of TV weather in his town. He's good on the air and can tell a good weather story. People love him.

That said, Jeff is well respected in the world of TV meteorologist as a rising star. He has the looks and the knowledge. In the DFW area, you'd better know your stuff or the weather will run you over before long. I hope things work out for him in DFW.

The most successful tv weather people have an excellent way of communicating the forecast. Troy Dungan is a great example of someone who takes the National Weather Service forecast and copies it on the air. But viewers love his laid back presentation.

Jeff seems to have both the knowledge and the communication skills.

Then there's Pete Delkus with his hand slapping approach to dramitization and over acting of the weather. Tonight we might have severe weather. He will be wearing his Shakespearian "Othello" costume and recite in his imaginary Globe theatre ,the chances of large hail and damaging winds.

Hahahahahaha...thank you KPLEX, I needed a laugh...but,lest we forget CBS 11 and Khristines "Nervous Little Dog" performance as well
