As many of us know, KTXA will have some major changes when UPN goes away in September. I don't watch UPN 21 at all and had not seen this ad campaign until sister station KTVT did a story on it. Basically, it plays off part of the station's new logo. It appears on toast and cut into a field like a crop circle in the ads. At the end of the ad it has a website: whatcoulditmean.com. The website now spills the beans on the whole thing. But apparently before they revealed what it was, they just had a link so people could e-mail their thoughts on what this star could mean. It sounds like they got thousands of e-mails.
I'm not sure this ad campaign really worked, but goodness knows we need more creativity like this on TV in the DFW area.
