KTXD HD coming to Time Warner Cable?

I noticed that Time Warner cable has KTXD HD on 19.3 (remapped to 47.1) on clear QAM but it is not on the boxes yet.

I called KTXD yesterday and I was told they are keeping MeTV but will have some of the D Magazine shows in the morning beginning early next year. Also MeTV should start airing over nights once the religious programming contracts end according to what I was told. I was also told that KTXD is pushing for HD coverage on all systems in the metroplex. I have read online that the satellite broadcasters are supposedly required to air all HD Channels in a market where they have HD locals but are not required to if they don't have a contract and I am guessing must carry stations are going to have to have the HD feed added.

That's good to hear. Noticed a few weeks ago that "The Voice w/ Jody Rogers" was replaced by "Danny Davis Ministries," so perhaps the religious shows are already starting to slowly drop off. Most are carried on other stations anyway.

BTW I noticed their EPG has been messed up again this past week. 47.4 shows the guide for 47.1, as it always has, but 47.1 just shows "KTXD DT-1" for every show. Also still only 12 hours of EPG (on the "good" one), even though they're providing Tribune with much more. What's up with that?

when it shows up in the guide. It is already broadcasting on clear QAM to any TV that is HDTV and has a QAM tuner on 19.3 (remapped with PSIP to 47.1)

Time Warner Cable also added BBC World News to digital basic today throughout its texas systems.

According to this post in another thread, it'll happen Jan. 7. Keep in mind these dates have a way of slipping, though.

Press release announcing the coming of "D-TV" came out this morning:

Announcing DFW's Newest Media Pairing: D Magazine and KTXD-TV

Addison, TX -- Dec 03, 2012 / What happens when a best-selling magazine and the market's newest, independent network team up? Sophisticated, distinctive television programming that focuses on local issues, local people and local culture. That's what DFW can expect when D Magazine and London Broadcasting's KTXD-TV join forces to launch D-TV, a station that will create its own identity, one show at a time.

Viewers will see the change Jan. 7, 2013, but the transition begins now. The station will retain its KTXD-TV call letter identity, but the market will come to know it better as D-TV, explains Phil Hurley, EVP and COO of London Broadcasting, parent company of KTXD-TV. DFW viewers can tune into KTXD-TV on channel 47 on Dish Network, DIRECTV and AT&T; channels 24 and 428 on Time Warner; channel 18 on Verizon; channel 249 on Comcast Xfinity; and channel 22 on Charter Communications.

...

Note: The cable channel numbers in the press release could refer to either SD or HD feeds. I don't have cable so I don't know.

The HD feed of KTXD will be on channel 429 according to their bi-monthly notice of changes advertised in the DMN today: http://findnsave.dallasnews.com/Local-Ads/a-5472/Time-Warner-Cable/20602056

When will KTXD go digital? Will this be Channel 47.2 (Me-TV 24/7)?

Huh? They're already digital and have been since June 2009, before they were even KTXD.

If you mean HD, 47.1 (soon to be TWC channel 429) is KTXD's only HD subchannel. It's Me-TV but not 24/7.

If you're looking for Me-TV 24/7, try the SD channels (presumably TWC channel 24 or 428). It's possible TWC is using 47.4 for the SD feed. Not guaranteed, though (TWC may be downconverting 47.1 instead).

Time Warner uses 47.1...channel 24/428 gets the informericals and religious shows, now the 47.4 24/7 MeTV feed.

Bummer :( Does TWC still have any analog channels? Is 24 analog and 428/429 digital SD/HD? I know Comcast is all-digital but don't know about TWC

Has anyone seen any of the new D-TV programming yet today? And has KTXD fixed their EPG yet?

I just hope KTXD doesn't mess with the 24/7 MeTV on 47.4. I find at least half the shows I watch there are being preempted on 47.1 for local stuff I have zero interest in for the most part. Saturday night re-runs of "Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea" has replaced SNL at my house, but that's only shown on 47.4.

Yes; they've made some questionable preemptions IMO. (At least they backed off from preempting Emergency!) It's fine if they want to do local programming but they should try to preempt less popular shows or shows that are on other stations.

Their EPG was still fouled up as of last night (47.4 EPG showed 47.1's schedule; 47.1 EPG showed KTXD-DT1 over & over ::) It's been like that for about a month now).

Totally off topic but I remember MAD Magazine's spoof of that show, "Voyage to See What's On the Bottom."
