KTXN Victoria questions

I noticed this station doesn't broadcast in stereo. Why is that?
AND
Have they lowered the power on their signal?
I listened to this station of and on as I was in Wadsworth working at the South Texas Project this time last year. I'm back and have noticed the signal seems weaker then I remember. Lots of signal drift

Whats up with this station?

I was in Victoria today and I listened to it while I was there. It was broadcasting in stereo. Sounded really good. I was highly impressed with the processing on the station. The signal drift you're referring to probably has something to do with all the tropo in the area lately. There was a lot of it tonight in Victoria. I was picking up a lot of stations from all over the place. Their antenna is only 249 ft up which doesn't help the signal when the tropo conditions are so severe.

Not sure about the stereo, as I noticed this last year. The stereo indicater on my radio does not come on on this station.. on all others it does. There's all noticeably no stereo separation.

JackFM has always been in stereo, sounds decent, one of the stronger stations in Victoria that can actually make it out of Victoria with out fading.

I don't know about that. I'll have to try it with a different radio. Are they broadcasting in HD? I'm seriously considering buying a portable Insignia one from Best Buy.

JackFM is not in HD, only Victoria station in HD is KVRT 90.7 and they have 2 other sub channels.

Is KIXS 107.9 FM in HD? I could swear my car radio was showing HD on 107 when I was there last week. Maybe I was just seeing things but I thought for sure I saw a station in the 107 range that was in HD.

As far as I know KIXS is not in HD. You might of been picking up KVLY or KQQK which a lot of the time the HD signals bleeds through KIXS.

Don't believe KTXN is in stereo.. I do know the difference and it shows on my car radio, the ST indicator doesn't light up on 98.7fm.. unless you have to be closer to Victoria to get it..(I'm in Wadsworth) but that really shouldn't matter..don't know
