KTXT-FM is back at Texas Tech

KTXT-FM, the student station at Texas Tech, "is back".

Unlike so many other student stations that were shut-down/sold-off/converted into public radio, KTXT has beaten the odds and returned.

I give the credit to Dr. Jerry Hudson, Dean of the Texas Tech College of Media and Communication for its return.

Students have been back on 88.1 since the Fall of 2011, when the station was moved back under the College of Mass Communications. We added Modern Rock/Alternative music to the schedule last July. In August, the station, along with the newly renamed College of Media and Communication, moved into a renovated building with new studios:

We're still getting settled into our new digs, but the students at Texas Tech have a "voice" on the radio once more.
