KTXX application

KTXX has a application to move closer in to San antonio, wonder how that will effect the LP K-love station in San marcos if they can move closer? I can no longer get KTXX with K276EL, That station makes no sense, KMLR has a exellent reception all over San Marcos, I dont understand that makes no sense at all!

If KTXX gets the application approved you might see a minimal effect on the translator. They're wanting to move KTXX from a tower northeast of Karnes City to a few miles west of town, putting it a little closer to San Antonio. But they'd have to afford "contour protection" to co-channel KEEP Bandera, resulting in just a little more of the signal going north toward San Marcos than it does now. Talk about a tight pattern; look at the collision between the primary and secondary "service areas" of the two stations:

At last report the application was on hold with this reason given: "Technical deficiency -awaiting applicant information." Even if they do get approval for it, it'll be about the same situation it is now. Set your radio on 103.1 on the west side and you'll mainly hear KEEP; go east and KTXX will take over.

I cant get either any more with K276EL My directional antenna pulls in K276EL over the rest either or of the directions.
