KTXX Flips to Spanish Hits

Another flip on KTXX going to a Spanish hits format, they are more of a Victoria station than San antonio, but does catch the fringe area. That was the 3rd flip in about 1 year.

I think that may be what they are I havnt been listening much to them....

Is Air America Radio still airing over KOKE 1600-AM in Austin?? This is the sister station of KTXX.
If so, How is it doing??

Not sure how well they are doing but yes KOKE still has air america, the nighttime signal sux but daytime is ok.

2007- Air America moves down the dial(550 KTSA) replacing some of the big money makers.

I don't think so. And the way I see it, "big money" is a relative term when it comes to San Antonio radio. If you routinely have to line up outside gigs to make what you should be earning from your radio job alone, something's wrong.

I would think that would be a bad part on BMP, because I read somewere didnt air america file for chapter 11?

BMP is known for not spending big money on air personalities. Exception could be the morning crew at KLEY. Regardless, I still belive the Ware pair and other air personalities will be out in 2007 at KTSA.

I could see that happening as a cost-cutting measure, but replacing them with Air America would be a throat-cutting measure. Recent election results notwithstanding, I just don't see how Air America would have enough of an audience here in Military City, USA to justify putting it on the #2 AM stick. SA may have half a dozen colleges and universities, but it is not a college town that is chock full of progressive thinkers.

KTXX's audio sounds like crap after they fliped its worse than a 16kbps internet stream!

That's because that's is exactly what it is. It's a 37k audio stream from San Antonio to Austin then uplinked to satellite until the uplink equipment is installed in San Antonio. Bright idea of the so called computer genius in Austin. :-\
