KUAZ 1550 Heard In Alaska!

I was outside early this morning and had KGMZ 1550 San Francisco and Punjab 1550 KVRI Blaine, WA swapping in and out so I hit record on my recorder at 4:59am and one minute later caught the KUAZ sign on message trampling over KGMZ/KVRI!

I'm 230 miles NW of Anchorage, using a Ccrane Skywave and a DeBock 5" FSL Antenna (
)

I'll post audio later

Who knows, that one might repeat over the next few days. Good catch!

Interesting note - I'm only ~7 miles SW of that transmitter & tower.

Here's the audio of KUAZ.. the music is KGMZ San Francisco, Channel Q.... the flutter in KGMZ;s signal is the carrier of KLUAZ coming up, I think... and when you hear a brief interruption in the KGMZ song, that's KUAZ causing that. The KUAZ announcement is a bit hit hard by KGMZ's music but you can hear it fairly well and the NPR programming becomes a bit clearer, even.

Audio:

In their sales material KUAZ can now say that they reach more people in McGrath, Alaska than does any other Tucson station. Should get them some new donors.
