KUBE

Does anyone else think they should drop the "hits and hip-hop" slogan? The only hip-hop I see on their playlist is stuff from the rhythmic chart and a bunch of gold stuff probably pretty typical for a rhythmic top 40 station. I listened for about an hour and a half yesterday and again, the only hip-hop I heard was right off of the rhythmic chart or was also a huge hit on CHR.

They should drop hip-hop altogether. It's a dying genre.

Maybe so, but what would they replace it with? Drop hip-hop altogether and canibalize the already declining Kiss? Remember that they are under the same ownership. I think they should just drop the slogan. With the way CC is promoting their rhythmics these days, "Seattle's party station" will probably be the next slogan they get, which I think fits perfectly with their format now.

KUBE has always been known as playing it safe. They play just the top 20 or so out of the hottest 40 songs and spin recurrent stuff HEAVILY. Seattle must not be into Hip Hop as compared to, say, San Francisco...
