Let me start with Scott Fybush. If it wasn’t for the hard work that Scott does we wouldn’t have a place to read up on the latest developments in broadcasting. Not just here in Western New York, but other parts of the northeast as well.
Bob Savage is one of the few veteran broadcasters that remain in the business who is dedicated to keeping a local operation going. Sure Bob could sell his station and retire. Instead he’s putting time, money and effort into improving WYSL by installing a new transmitter that will beam a stronger signal into the Rochester metro market. He is going up against three huge corporations that own 98% of all radio stations in Rochester, yet his station, located in a rural community, is the second highest billing AM station in the metro region. Bob has proven that David can beat Goliath.
Tom Proietti has been not only a mentor, but a friend to many of us who work, or worked, in broadcasting. His advice has always been welcomed because he truly loves the business and has respect for his students and his friends. If anyone deserves to belong to the Rochester Broadcasting Hall of Fame it is Tom Proietti.
The reason I mention these people, and I’m sure that there are others out there, is because of them there is still hope that our industry will continue to survive, despite those doom and gloom individuals who predict the demise of radio.

I don't do these things to other people and I expect the same from them".</P>
