Kudos to STAR 102.5

While most stations are losing touch with there local listeners Star is doing somthing GREAT!! They have been doing a "Radio Request A Thon" for alzheimers, raising money for a great cuase and actually letting the listeners request what they want!! Yesterday going into work I heard Sir Mix Alots"Baby Got Back" followed by Barry Mannilows " Mandy" followed by Twisted Sisters "We're Not Gonna Take It" LOL!! Now and that is just a 3 song sample Each request came with a donation, and a real wonderment of what they would play next!! Now when has there ever been a time a radio station really played requests?? KUDOS STAR!!!!!

Guess that you don't listen to 97-Rock. Between their "guest DJ weekends", and some of Norton's fund raising, they have played equally off-the-wall requests from time to time.

BTW, that's not a knock on Star's efforts - or their commitment to local programming that connects with listeners.

I love 97 rock, unfortanatly it tends to be a rimshot where I am! The valley which Chautauqua Lake sits in doesnt really let there signal come in! I tend to only get Star, Jack , the Edge, HTT and Joy, but who cares about that..lol.. But yes it is a very good cuase!!

Others look bad ?
the GREAT ones ( as in this case Star 102) is not
doing this to make some one look bad, but to do
more to make listeners to feel BETTER - and they
are doing so - in a big way...
Little things, making an HUGE impact, . . outro from
the commercials, "now you know where to shop, back to the music..."
( a little thanks to listening to the commercials). . .
instead of jack "trying to be funny" and just be trying on listeners patience...
