Kudos to Weathernation...

For being a great substitute to the stupid Weather Channel we have today. I watched several minutes of it this morning on KFFV-44's new subchannel here in Seattle, and the forecasters are very good with everything. Still, it's new, but it reminds me of the late 1990s-era Weather Channel. TWC, you've lost another viewer! Lots of others on here hopefully agree! :)

No doubt Dish Network is kicking themselves for not keeping its predecessor, The Weather Cast, around after they made a deal with TWC after a dispute knocked the latter off for a couple of days.

The problem I have with it is the "local forecast" that is done at the station level is usually outdated. Here in Minneapolis where its on KARE11 (NBC...the only reason its carried here is the owner of WXnation use to be the weatherman there) the same "local" cutin at 4PM will be the same as it was at 8AM

Also hate to day it but even the main weathernation is repeated too...and not in a good way.

Remember, it's just getting started. Give it several months and it might work out better. But it's still an excellent substitute to the "Coast Guard" and "Storm Riders" crap that's on TWC's airwaves now.

Action Weather Plus is coming soon Cozi TV so that leaves KC area with Weatherscan Comcast/Surewest and Metro Weather TWCKC.

Maine-i-ac, how are you getting it through Roku? I don't see a channel for them in the Channel Store and haven't seen a private code for them.

Slight correction: Paul Douglas, the dude behind Weathernation, was at WCCO in Minneapolis, not KARE.

he was at KARE11 in the 80's (well when it was WUSA and WTCN) ;)...then left to go to Chicago (and jokingly known as the goof on the roof) then came back to Mpls and went to CCO. I remember him on 11 back then (shows my age)

From 1983 to 1994, Douglas was employed by KARE-TV in Minneapolis, MN.
