KUGB 28.1 ? (Houston area)

What is this station?

I can't get a decent enough signal to see what's on but my DB2 is picking this one up (if you can call it that) tonight.

where is the transmitter? I am not picking this up in my office at Mid-town or my home along the NE Beltway

They're at Missouri City, but only running 8 kW ERP. I'm surprised anyone can pick them up.

Tonight the station is running these crawls over their regular programming:

“Atencion iglesias, productores, tenemos espacios televisivos disponsibles, llamenos ya al 713-742-8985 excelente precios.” (“Attention churches, producers, TV spots are available, call us at 713-742-8985 excellent prices.”)

“LLame al cable Comcast para que nos incluya. Somos centroamericanos apoyenos somos centroamericanos. LLame ya al comcast al tel. 713-341-8332 para nos incluyan en su cable.” (“Ask Comcast cable to include us. We are Central Americans, support us. Call Comcast now at 713-341-8332 to include us on your cable.”)

Makes me wonder if the owner has finally realized that a business model of picking up Internet streams of Central American broadcasters and rebroadcasting them isn’t quite working out.

Or the business model of a hard-to-receive LPTV with no cable/satellite carriage isn't working out, either.

Comcast may pick them up after they clear out more analog channels from the cable lineup.

I agree they have no chance of real success without cable carriage.

That said, it's not something Comcast hands out willy-nilly. IIRC, KUVM had to lease a channel to get Azteca América back on after KAZH dropped them.
