KUKQ 1060 Possibly Returning?

Speculation that KUKQ may return with an Alternative format on Ancient Modulation at the current 1060 KDUS position as Sandusky has registered these and other domains:

www.1060KUKQ.com
www.KUKQ1060.com
www.KUKQPHX.com
www.ArizonasAlternative.com
www.KUKQLive.com
www.AltRadioKUKQ.com
www.KUKQAM1060.com
www.KUKQPhoenix.com
www.KUKQRadio.com

What say the Buckeye Boyz and other Denizens of the Desert?

Those Black Keys, Mumford + Sons and Foster The People tunes Pumped Up in Living Mono (well, they could always use IBUZ for some messy stereo EFX) might give the Goldminers + KOY-otes a run for their money - AM Music on the way back! Really?! ;D ;)

ummmm...Go Daddy is doing "10 for the price of 1" domain name registrations? Nurse Jeff and I'll go out on a limb here and predict a dismal future for music on Ancient Modulation. Perhaps a Gumpdusky ruse for bringing back the KUKQ calls for an
Alternative format on one of their FMs:eek: as we're not exactly sure what the difference is between KDKB and KUPD (kinda like the difference between a Gremlin and a Spirit). And yes indeedy, the KUKQ calls are available.

I hope it's true. That would be great news. It was precisely because of being on AM (less likelihood of attracting attention) that KUKQ got away with playing so much of the music they did. Everyone predicted a "dismal future" for the original KUKQ, and they were all wrong.

Which of course is why they went all-sports and became KDUS in 1997. ::)

Alt-rock lasted for 5 years or so, but sports has been there for almost 15. For those who still are still stuck in want to fondly remember the '90s, the KUKQ calls are still on the front of the Gumpdusky Broadcast Center in Guadalupe, though.

And visible from I-10 as you whip by. Maybe we should campaign to have the Gump Center
declared a historic site. We missed out on doing that for 12th St & Camelback--it's now just
the car...on the roof! ;)

It's a low risk high reward until/if 95.5, 97.5, 101.1, 104.3 or some other FM switches to Alternative. Maybe they can get the 92.7 and 99.3 translators for KUKQ once 101.1 doesn't need them anymore... "Arizona's Alternative KUKQ at 92-7 & 99-3."

We also missed the Safari Resort in Scottsdale where Jones & Boze IDed KSLX, Scottsdale as the West's most Midwestern Town! Now the best Gumpdusky can give us is that IKEA looking building at 44th & Camelback. Well, at least the Lumberyard still stands!
