KUTP to add Bounce TV to one their subchannels

From what rabbitears.info says, it appears that Bounce won't be replacing the "10.2" SD feed of KSAZ, but will be its own separate subchannel on RF-26.

This leaves Antenna TV as the last major subchannel network without a Phoenix affiliate. If KUTP is adding another subchannel for Bounce, it is technically possible for KNXV to add a 15.3 for Antenna TV (former AZTV GM who is now heading ABC15 Sales, are you listening? You know how to monetize classic TV subchannels).

Please don't take the following comment as racist because it is not intended to be but.....

All the other cities listed in the release have a significant Black population and you can easily see how the broadcaster wants to capture that demo with media directed at the Black population. Phoenix, however, is somewhere between 3 and 5% Black. Assuming that BounceTV has a very miniscule non-Black viewership (which may or may not be true....I don't know) how could this type of offering financially exist with such a niche demo?

It is is rather surprising! Perhaps it's some sort of package deal with Fox???

Color me shocked. This has to be a package deal, as Phoenix doesn't have the Black population by themselves to support the channel, and it would be incredibly presumptuous to assume that what little Black population that Phoenix has would automatically tune in to Bounce TV.

I could see how some of the non-Black population would tune in to shows like Cosby (although it is already running here) or Fat Albert but I don't know if Bounce TV would carry enough of those "cross over" shows to attract a decent number of viewers no matter their race.

"Soul Train" (reruns air on Bounce TV) was known to have a crossover audience during its run. They also air a number of high-budget movies which may be of interest to non-black audiences.

The Bounce TV website now shows KUTP, indicating that their programming will be on channel 26.4. I'm assuming that should actually be 45.4, which raises the question of whether KUTP is planning to add another programming stream to its .3 subchannel. Antenna TV perhaps? (No, I doubt it too.)

Program 3 = x.1, so Program 4 = x.2 — they meant 45.2 here. 26.4 would be without PSIP.

Of course...I should have realized that. It's not always the case, but that is usually how it is set up.

Wouldn't be the first time the Bounce TV website has been wrong about the specific channel.

The local affiliate is certainly keeping silent about the new subchannel. There's nothing on their website about BounceTV, and when I sent an e-mail asking about plans for BounceTV, I never got a response, or even an acknowledgement.
