KUUL's future plans....

As I understand it, The Bob & Tom Show will simulcast on KUUL and Q106 for 30-45 days starting Jan. 2, but after that time, what will KUUL do when Q106 airs B&T exclusively? Air another nationwide morning show, or just have a local DJ run things from 5-9am?

Speaking of KUUL..........

Speaking of KUUL.....

It's weird how they can't make up their minds on what to call it.

They call themselves KUUL-FM, KUUL 101.3, FM 101.3, 101.3. I used to think they were getting ready for a format change, but this has been going on for quite some time.

I like the addition of Mark Manuell in PM drive. Wish they would drop Bob & Tom and put a live body in mornings as well.

Mark Manuel

I noticed while listening to them the other day they called themselves "Channel 101.3".
I still havea feeling they are poised to make a format change at some point in the near future, with Mark Manuel as the new AM drive person.

I have always notice them calling themselves FM 101.3 and sometimes you here a sweeper say channel 101.3 or other form of the calls or freq. When I did P/T before flipping to "Super" BO J would say FM 101.3 and that was back in 2000. I honestly think they are saying FM 101.3 because WLLR says FM 103.7 ( I think they still do) Just to have an on air approach like 'LLR. Just my thoughts. And it flipping. Who knows!! CC has KILLED local radio. But flipping formats will bring them a $1 extra a year then maybe!!...it is all about the MONEY of course!

This just in: Starting Thursday (2/1/2007), Q106.5 will be the exclusive home for Bob & Tom--although did you hear the promo done by B&T themselves? They goofed up by saying "Classic Rock Q106.5" twice!

I've heard the "Classic Rock" line several times this week. I believe this may be their new monicker.

I still think KUUL has a golden opportunity right now to make a move. Yes, their numbers are alright now, but the future is coming and its not that pretty. They will soon be competing against themselves by having two AC stations competing against themselves.

This just in: At around 6pm, I heard that there will be a "new KUUL morning" soon--but the DJ never said what that meant....Will KUUL air a new morning show?

Malibu Mark Manuel produced by Captain Kirk (formerly of D&M)
Is what I've heard, and my sources are legit.

The new morning show will include Mark Manuel with Kirk as producer. But the big news is that there is a former QC's disc jockey coming back to town (after being gone for almost 20 years) to be a major player on this upcoming morning show.

Another interesting rumor about the upcoming KUUL changes has Polly Peterson from the Mix 96 line-up moving over to KUUL.

Don't look for any major format change on KUUL. Word is that there will be some adjustments, but no dramatic revision of the playlist.

I wonder if it will be someone from the old KIIK 104 days....
Jerry Pellitier? Matt Schwin? Steve Kettalar? I wouldn't think we would be seeing someone like Spike O' Dell or anything. Maybe Ian Case from 97X days, or Dan Collins or Dan Kennefy from the old Power 98.9 morning show.
Makes me wonder if KUUL might make an interesting, creative change to sound like the old pre-format flip of the old KIIK 104? It would feature music from what that station sounded like right before it changed...bring back some of the older DJ's from then, and hell maybe even bring back the old name.
Of course, this is very much so a pipe dream, as it is owned by CLEAR CHANNEL, nationwide destroyer of all things HERITAGE.

Polly Peterson

Polly Peterson is alread on KUUL...doing the overnight shift.
I hear quite a few Clear Channel jocks doing double duty thanks to the wonderful world of voice-tracking.

There won't be anymore Clear Channel Davenport (QC) anymore according to this:

In plain better English here:

This is market #: 159. None of the CC's are even streaming right now in the QCs! Though some time ago, KMXG had Listen Live shown but nothing came up when you clicked the link so it was just in the works. This was before the streaming crisis of course. So when this change happens (and I don't know when) you'll have more than just a format change to worry about on the 101.3 frequency I'm sure. This is currently my fav. oldies station so I hope nothing happens to it!

icycool7227 ----

the Quad Ctiy market is actually market 143 not 159 and with the article you posted, well if you read other press releases following that, they said that select markets 100+ would be kept by CC and one of those markets was the Quad Cities
