KVCE 1160

I drove through Dallas yesterday (Saturday) and didn't hear any English language programming on KVCE 1160. Are they no longer doing ANY English language programming and is Dan Patrick still the owner?

Yeah, you couldn't have driven through on a LUNCH BUNCH day, huh?!? ;D

I believe Patrick is still the licensed owner of KVCE. Patrick, tho, had a name recognition problem here, AND was trying to run everything on the absolute cheap, AND trying to do everything from Houston so he wouldn't need a staff here...It all added up to colossal failure. He's just doing the typical AM thing now and leasing out time to the highest bidder now. Don't know if you read the other posts, but even BizRadio was over there briefly (in a sense; Frishberg and a few select others were leasing some of the afternoon hours during 2009, after Frishberg let KJSA-1110 get foreclosed on.)

AM's just a big case of musical chairs in DFW these days. Good luck keeping any kind of scorecard on it.

Yes,

Salem has flipped several under performing talk stations and one Spanish station to Business/sports talk.

They LMA'd with Patrick to use that station without changing the other ones. Its not bad and they have Bloomberg Radio on overnight. Weird part is they have Bloomberg on at night and KSKY as well!

The Bloomberg over night is not a bad thing for either station-- mainly because of signal strength-- KSKY at 660 is much stronger-- but going north-- KVCE Night time signal is stronger up along Denton, Collin, Grayson, and Wise-- the stick is in Lewisville-- makes sense on that note!

Their sports show-- well thats another story all together-- and I think I will refrain from commenting on that-- I would just say-- tune in and judge for yourself.

Just a thought!

I was listening to it Sat night/early Sunday morning when I got off work. They both had bloomberg on but seemed to be two different interview shows. thought they would just pump the same down to both stations. Weird.
