KVEN 1450 & Wolfman Jack...How is it done? Fake Wolfman, Computer, Airchecks?

Hi all:
Wolfman Jack died in 1995. KVEN oldies 1450 in Ventura County (outside of the LA radio market) has Wolfman Jack listed on their DJ section of homepage and his time slot is M-F 12-1PM, Sundays 7AM-12PM. It's listed as "The Wolfman Jack show".
Is this show old airchecks of the original Wolfman Jack show or is this a computurize Wolfman Jack or sliced segments of Wolfman Jacks voice fused with new air shows? If its just old airchecks played each day for an hour then they must have a heck of a lot of Wolfman's airchecks from his oldies years.
I have to admit it's kind of haunting too have a radio station list one of their DJs, and that DJ having his own show even though he's been dead for ten years lol. Wolfman is way cool though. He brings something too radio, even after all these years he's been deceased.

Regards,
Anthony--

I believe it is a remastering of his old syndicated show.

Ah way cool; I was wondering how they pulled it off. It makes sense...take the lost tapes (must be a lot of them too) and edit them into the radio stations ID and jingles and it sounds as though Wolfman Jack is live and still broadcasting.

Thank you,
Anthony--

Some 'remastering.' CCU's Kool here in Lubbock runs the show. Based on the sound quality I heard, they aren't fooling ANYONE!!!!!!!!

Wolfman Jack STILL rules! I'd take a old tape of his shows over most of the current shows anytime.

Did Wolfman Jack ever do his show out of Atlanta after WNBC? I listened to him as a child out of NYC and just wondered, Thanks!

Wolfman Jack had a syndicated show in the 70's and was later heard on many stations in the 80's as well. What you most likely heard was the syndicated 70's version back then. As for the new syndication of Wolfman, it's being handled by his former program director at KDAY and founder of R&R Bob Wilson and station owner Art Astor. In an interview for Don Barrett, Wilson disclosed that Wolfman's widow had fallen on hard times and approached Bob to bring the Wolfman back to the airwaves. They take his old shows, re-master them to digital medium and then take the best parts to create new shows that are then sold for cash instead of barter. According to Wilson, it's a success.
