KVET-FM goes from a 5.8 to a 5.2 to a 4.8; falls to 9th; cume continues to drop; definitely trending downward. So, MozeMan, how are those new changes working out for ya?

What's falling off is the 55+ audience. The station is gaining is 25-54's.. the station is still going through a transition with the audience... I think it sounds better than it ever has... it's more consistent, I like the era the station has moved into... 80's, 90's stuff... good era for country and a lot of great music now being aired on KVET... much better than the old fart stuff that was on a year ago...

Don't let these guys beat you down... I don't really understand what the "bone" with KVET is.. whatever it is, it's their problem - not yours. KVET sounds Sooo much better, from the talent to the imaging and especially to the music... keep up the good work.. I'm sure it will pay off quickly... congrats again with the recent gains.. the station sounds better than it has in the last several years.. period. Anyone that disagrees with that, really is not grasping radio today...MozeMan said:austingeezer said:KVET-FM goes from a 5.8 to a 5.2 to a 4.8; falls to 9th; cume continues to drop; definitely trending downward. Well Tom, since you've asked so nicely: Radio512 is correct in that it appears, at a cursory glance of the breakdowns, that the dip in 6+ numbers (which nobody sells by the way) is due to a dropoff in the oldest demos, which were very large but useless business-wise for KVET as the PPM era dawned. Though I should probably not say anything specific about it in a public forum, we are seeing great growth in several dayparts among the "money" demos. I mainly pay attention to my own show's numbers, and May '11 was very chicky. Great growth in target female demos...I like females. Tied with or beating beloved sister station KASE in many of the targets.
But then this is ratings, ratings come and go, and there is a lot more interesting scenery in the picture: huge crowds at the Series, great relationships with happy clients, grateful artists and passionate listeners, sponsorship packages sold out or close to it, management who believes in me, shares my vision and has my back as I produce a rather strange show, and a parent company with enormous resources to draw upon. I am serving a community that I love dearly, and it is paying great dividends in many different ways. I am enjoying the hell out of the most successful and meaningful period in my radio career.
So yeah, things are pretty good, thanks for asking.
Chris

I was hoping to have a part in continuing a great tradition. The job posting gave no indication what the near future would hold.
