KVET-FM SLIPS TO 11TH IN AUGUST PPM

That's not too much of a slide, but isn't August a pretty flat month for KVET anyway? Don't they get healthy when they add UT football in September? Most stations with major college football get a kiss when the season kicks off. Bet their September book looks a bit...better.

I am more amused at the KXBT numbers. I noted that KXXS (92.5) cume was flat. The "new" oldies on 98.9 (where the format was simulcast until last weekend, I think) gained an incredible 5,000 listeners, and trails their June PPM as the "Big" Talker. Makes me want to move all of my ad dollars over there. Not. To think that one of their sales staffers told one of my employees that they'd be at least a top 15 or top 10 station in Austin, and that they'll be the "hottest station in town" this fall.

Who thought satellite fed, non promoted oldies format would do better? Anyone have the 65+ numbers? (just kidding)
