KVET racial slur?

Hearing reports that a KVET jock may have used a racial slur when talking about Barack Obama yesterday and now the station is stuck cleaning up the mess. True?

true... Sammy Allred was trying to make a crack on Joseph Biden (and the whole "Obama is the only clean black man i know" remarks) - only, he took it further "Yep - he's a clean darkie".. in his defense, he was referencing the remarks from Biden, but damn - you never take it there - not forgivable.

 Sammy is on leave from KVET!

As someone who worked with Sammy, I don't think he's a racist. It was DUMB to say that on the air..but he's no racist!

This is news to me! ! ! ! Whyyy in the hell, would some one at this station comment on somthing like that?
I have been listening to this station for years and have not had a problem with it. People need to learn that there is a time and a place for this, and over the air, radio or tv, is not the time or the place. I hope that this doesn't determine my decision wether to still listen to this station or not. I do not think it will though.

This is a good example on why we think before we speak.

There are people who listen to Sammy and Bob, just hoping to find something to complain about. I remember once about a decade ago, when a typo on the prep sheet said F_AG DAY instead of FLAG DAY. Sammy said "I guess we'll have to call Glenn Maxey" and Cole corrected him: "FLAG DAY, Sammy, FLAG DAY". They never said the word ***, but it made it into a complaint against the station license filed with the FCC.
They should have Gary Bledsoe on the show to explain why no one should use the word Darky, then all shake hands and move on... but I betcha the people complaining don't want to move on. They want to beat up S&B.
That said, I recall them singing along with a Charley Pride song one morning, off air, using the dreaded word that must not be spoken....Kiss a ****** Good morning. But it's okay to be racist if you don't say it in public, I guess. Funny guys.

Huh?
So a guy rapping about a 11 year old girl having sex with a 16 year old boy does not offend you? You know what I do when I hear that song? I press the button on my radio to change the channel! How easy is that!

If you are referring to Ludacris feat Mary J Blige - Runaway love, you have missed the point about the song. The song is about how many young females in this nation are in really bad situations and that there needs to be something done about it. Maybe if you actually listened the the message about the song you would actually get it... ::)

It wasnt about the message that I was trying to come across about that post, the point was that if you dont like what someone says/does on the radio, all you half to do is press a button, change the channel and not worry with it.
