KVI 570 still all-Christmas past the New Year

nd2023

Banned
As of now KVI 570 is the only station in the country to still play Christmas music 24 hours a day. Is there a format change coming soon?

It plans on switching to Smart Talk 570 KVI (talk format with local morning show, Clark Howard and other shows) later this AM, as 570 KVI used to be oldies, but the ratings were HORRENDOUS (with two local classic hits/oldies stations on FM).

I saw many TV spots for KVI Oldies. Those terrible commercials with people getting lyrics to classic oldies wrong. "I've got a chicken to ride, and its in my hair" Ugh! Just awful. What idiotic ad agency comes up with those?

I believe these same spots were used for many many years, for other oldies stations (the majority FM) across the country. K-Best 95 in San Diego used spots similar to those, and I believe KBSG did also (people singing along to the music), alot of years ago (Like mid-late 90s).

They are at least promoting the new morning show somewhat on KOMO/4. Even rolled out the old Northwest Afternoon set (or a picture thereof) for the occasion. However, no big imaging spot highlighting the stuff they'll be playing from Tuesday forward.

Am I missing something here?

dang, could have been a new unique format: CHRISTMAS 570

Christmas music 24/7/365. it would be a good parenting aid, and have santa in the morning broadcast chair reminding kids daily how santa knows when you been bad or good, so be good for goodness sakes!

the Christmas in july sales ads could have a good run on CHRISTMAS 570...

oh, and come october, november, december, CHRISTMAS 570 would rise to the occasion with listeners flocking in like migrating ducks to a pond. especially after an entire year of free word of mouth advertisement from seattlites dissing this 24/7/365 Christmas stunt as insane.

who knows. you all listeners, and broadcast companies seem to like that Christmas music jive startin' up 'round halloween/thanksgiving. and insanely the good ratings seem to back that up? why not all year? ::)
