KVI - "The Commentators" Moving To KOMO/1000, Ingraham on KVI

Prompted by this notice on Laura Ingraham's "new stations list":

Seattle-Tacoma KVI AM 570 3-6pm (Starts September 22nd.)

...I pulled up the live stream of KVI, wondering if the local "The Commentators" show would talk about it.

They just did.

They announced that starting September 29th, "The Commentators" will move to KOMO/1000 weekdays from 10 AM-2 PM, and that TRN's Ingraham will indeed replace them on KVI.

Talk about your "breaking news"! I came to post this message, and just heard the announcement a couple of minutes ago...

Oh, sorry about that. I did actually see that header, but KIRO being in the subject header threw me off. If it'd said "KOMO/KVI", I would have found it. I don't read the Seattle board often...and just did a quick look and an unproductive search.

Guess you Ohioans are a little slow. Try searching the board next time.

Well, I apologize if I'm not as quick on the draw as you, but...

The Search function (the actual function) on this board is awful. Putting in "commentators" as a search term on the Seattle board brings up just one thread from recent days - mine. The rest, on the first page, are from long ago. There's no way to sort by date...it scores by percentages. Most of the first page search returns were from the show's earlier days on KOMO!

And the thread in question does not actually contain the needed information. It links to the Blatherwatch URL without comment about what is behind the URL, and then a bunch of you kick around "does this mean the end of all news at KOMO". And the subject header in the mighty thread does not mention the show's current home, at all. I skipped the thread by name since it said "KIRO", as, as far as I know, the show is not moving to KIRO.

Just want you to know I don't agree with Radio Pro's attitude. I just wasn't sure if you'd missed it somehow.

Ugh! Who will take the all-news radio in the midday? KIRO? KTTH?

Yeah, it was sort of "hidden in plain sight". I'm not a mindreader, and I don't read this board regularly enough to keep up with all the threads, especially mislabeled ones! :D

As for the question posed by crainbebo...my guess, no one. Middays aren't really an important daypart to an all-news format, anyway. Even full-ahead large market news stations like KNX in Los Angeles experiment in middays...they put stuff like a "business hour" on. WTOP in DC runs its "Ask the Mayor"/"Ask the Governor" long form interview shows on in middays, etc...
