KVIL has gone all Christmas

It looks like KVIL has gone all Christmas. ::) Lite rock has moved to HD-2...

www.kvil.com

Sunday Jazz Brunch remains as is with a few smooth jazz Christmas songs mixed in as we get closer to Christmas... 8)

Not unexpected. But thanks for the info. I'd have never known as KVIL is not found on my presets.

Not quite correct. Christmas music will be played 8:30-noon on Sunday mornings thru Christmas, with quite a few smooth jazz Christmas tunes thrown in. Folks can still enjoy the usual smooth jazz stream on the website.

Well they probably don't care, but they've lost me as a listener until after the Christmas holidays.

I can't even get into the spirit of Christmas until AFTER Thanksgiving and I am not a Scrooge and I like Christmas and everything about it, I just cannot handle listening to Christmas songs 24/7.

They are no longer part of my pre-set dial. Changed that button to Movin until after Christmas.

Jay,

That must have been a tough choice for you... Perry Como or Ol' Dirty Bastard... ;D

Since KVIL targets a female audience and that audience can't get enough of it, it's not surprising they start before November. Wonder what the PPMs are picking up. If I recall, in Houston, when they first moved to it, you could see KODA's audience levels shoot up immediately with their annual switch to all-Christmas.

To be honest, since ratings spike for this each year, good for them for doing it. Clearly, most of their audience wants it. Too often it seems like what is on the air (generic, cheap syndicated programming now filling nights on most stations, for example) isn't what the audience is really demanding.

Last year in Houston, PPM showed the following for KODA:
NOVEMBER BOOK - 5.2
DECEMBER BOOK - 8.9
HOLIDAY BOOK - 10.1
JANUARY BOOK - 5.5

The "Holiday" book was 12/13/07 - 1/9/08.
These number are Persons 6+, so shares within target demos like Persons 25-54 and Women 25-54 saw even greater increases during the December and Holiday books.

Website looks cool. Love the snowflakes!

The switch was expected.
