KVLU goes digital

Beating CC and Cumeless too (well for the "Local" signals.....103.7 and maybe 97.5 has HD but since they are not targeted to the BPT area).....Funny, the spurs I had noticed on 91.1, 91.5 and 91.7 are gone too...
(even though someone SWORE there were no spurs out of 91.3's xmtr.....hmmm)...amazing what adding HD will do ;) BTW Stan, have you listened to the HD streams? Wonder what they are carrying on it?

I don't have a HD radio yet - but according to the Enterprise,

"This will give people more of what they love," station manager for operations Byron Balentine said. [EDIT]

KVLU's web site states the following(http://dept.lamar.edu/kvlu/hdradio.html):

WHAT IS HD RADIO BROADCASTING?

HIGH DEFINITION Digital Radio broadcasting is dramatically higher quality audio, far more programming choices and compelling new wireless data services. No more static, hiss, pops or fades. Nearly 400 NPR member stations are in the process of upgrading to HD Radio technology and KVLU will be one of the first in Southeast Texas. To upgrade your car radio, look for HD Radio products from Eclipse, JVC, Kenwood, Panasonic and Sanyo. Yamaha and Boston Acoustics offer home radios. Many more manufacturers are coming to market next year, including Alpine, Polk and Radiosophy.
