KVMX Portland, OR GETS THE AIRWAVES MOViN

KVMX GETS THE AIRWAVES MOViN IN NEW DIRECTION
Portland’s Newest Format MOViN 107.5 Debuts Today

(Portland, Oregon) … KVMX launched The New MOViN 107.5 today at 10:00AM (PT).bringing the rhythmic adult contemporary format that is sweeping the country to the Portland airwaves. Featuring a blend of hits from the 80s, 90s and today, core artists heard on the station will include familiar names like Gwen Stefani, Justin Timberlake, Black Eyed Peas, Kanye West, Janet Jackson, Beyonce, Usher, Outkast and more.

“The time has come for Portland to get MOViN,” said Mark Walen, Vice President and General Manager of the station. “I’m confident listeners will be quick to embrace this new format which has a unique flavor combining some of the biggest hits from the last two decades with the most popular songs of today.”

KVMX is owned and operated by CBS RADIO, one of the largest radio operators in the United States. In addition to KVMX, CBS RADIO also owns and operates KUFO, KLTH, KUPL, KINK and KCMD-AM in the Portland market. They recently premiered the MOViN format on stations in San Francisco and Dallas.

I guess this explains why the domain name www.movin1075.com hasn't been issued to Dallas yet. CBS owns it, but which market is going to get it?

I'd say it doesn't really matter. www.movin1075fm.com is also registered (privately, I would assume to CBS). One will get the original, one will get fm.

Movin' is sweeping the country like Jack did, lots of talk and hype and little substance to date.

Prefab format with typically absent talent is a no brainer $ saver for management and a fad to lift the ratings of any number of low audience cluster FMs through out the country.
