KVOS Seattle

Whilst watching MeTV last night, I was surprised to see KVOS changed their COL from Bellingham to Seattle.

They've been running a graphic listing KVOS Seattle for almost a year....I once sent a note asking how they do that when FCC still showed Bellingham has COL. They didn't reply. FCC DB (as of 15 seconds ago) still shows BHam too. Oh well....as long as they keep Mary Tyler Moore on the air I will forgive their transgressions.

(By the way...what's with this crappy message data entry page that only responds to every 30th #*&$# keystroke???)

Of course, KVOS used to be "the Voice Of Seattle", so it's all fitting somehow.

Of course the irony is that's difficult if not impossible to get the OTA signal in Seattle or points south..which is the whole point of MeTV and other retro channels.
Are there any legal requirements for the COL anymore?

The ID at/near the top of the hour said KVOS Seattle? I'm surprised there wasn't a miniscule Bellingham in the right position. (They can say anything they want as long as they get that one "legal ID.")

Could be someone in promotions doesn't really know the rules... and no one in charge has noticed.

Appears not.

I tried getting 44.6 on my TV (inside antenna, 2nd floor, top of a Tacoma hill) that usually gets excellent reception, and the video quality is awful. Is there any chance they can improve the signal? BTW, I found out Cozi broadcast on 44.5--with even worse reception.

Effective today (maybe a bit earlier) the station ID for the former Channel 12 is now "KVOS Bellingham KFFV Seattle".

Things are now as they should be, although I would have asked for "KVOSdt 12.1 Bellingham KFFVdt 44.6 Seattle".

One other thing. Sur Sagar TV has returned on KVOSdt 12.3 after several days of silence.

Which would not be legal, of course, since either "KVOSdt" nor "KFFVdt" are legal call signs. Of course, KVOS should be KVOS-TV, so it's not 100% legal as it is either.
