KVTT Moving To 1110 AM

KVTT is enthusiastically announcing this morning that they are signing off the 91.7 frequency on Monday at 6 P.M. They have just signed a deal with KJSA 1110 A.M. to relaunch the format on the daytimer "within 3 to 5 days". KVTT will continue thier programing after local sunset on an Internet station based at KVTT.com .

There is still no word as to what North Texas Public Broadcasting plans to do with 91.7 until the planned sign-on of KKXT in November.

Additional information:

Tom Dooley is reporting that 91.7 will go dark at 6 P.M. Monday instead of running any sort of barker. KJSA will change the call-sign to KVTT. KJSA will upgrade to 50 KW in November.

I dont think it would be wise to let a station with dead air sit for 6 1/2 weeks (approximently). But I dont think/not sure they can do anything about it.

Here are a couple of followup questions:

1). Does the "3 to 5 days" time window refer to after the Monday signoff of the 91.7 facility or has the clock already started ticking?

2). Is KVTT buying the 1110 facility from M&M or will this be another lease of airtime.

FWIW, there's nothing yet on the KVTT website about this, thus Radio-Info is the place for late-breaking news.

Proving that Radio-Info is the Hedda Hopper, Walter Winchell or Louelle Parsons of radio.

Well, Google the names.

I'm too lazy to explain.

I agree that the web site has not been updated yet. The information was announced on-air by Tom Dooley and KVTT's GM.

Jimmie Fidler says hi. :)

I thought the sign off for KVTT on 91.7 was for 6am Monday morning not 6pm.

The Journey with Tom Dooley will be moving from morning drive to afternoon drive because there may be some mornings where the station is not on the air until close to 8.

The GM of KVTT Doug Price plans to buy 1110 with hopes to be debt free within 6 years.

Praise in the Night - the show that begins airing at 11cst will be moving to 91.3 - don't know if they will be on the internet night time version of KVTT.

KVTT has took down most of its content on their website.

It's interesting to watch the station play this up on their website as them fighting some sinister outside forces to stay on the air, when as the article points out, they are the ones who paid too much for the signal and real estate and got clobbered by the debt service. Then again, playing the "persecution" card probably gets them more donations than just being up front about making a business decision.

And the station characterizing itself as ``being silenced'' brands itself as ``The Truth''.

How about some honesty about this, KVTT?

Anyone have the last lil bit of audio on 91.7?

I have the last 30 minutes of it, and that was kinda weird itself.

OK. I guess I really missed out on something - like the REASON a station wants to sign off a 24hr 100kw FM in favor of a daytime-only directional AM in Mineral Wells. Please help.
???

Because the company SOLD the station to another entity and the new owners want to put their own programming on 91.7

As of 7:30 A.M. this morning, KJSA Mineral Wells (1110) was playing the format of KVTT. The signal was staticy in Plano, but that was probably "critical hours" power.
