Fort Collins KVXO transmitter tower blown down

Colorado Public Radio has filed an STA request for its Fort Collins classical station KXVO, which rebroadcasts Denver's KVOD. In the request, CPR reports that the transmitting tower for KVXO, near Buckhorn Mountain west of Fort Collins, was destroyed by wind on February 4. A temporary pole was erected, and the station returned to the air three days later with reduced coverage, due to a lower height and lower ERP. The station indicates in its filing that the tower is to be rebuilt in about two months.
