Is not only possible - I did it for years from Midland and Lubbock on many of the Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio stations. All that is required is enough antenna gain in the direction of reception, and a good, low noise front end in your tuner. Since I am in Plano, I'll swing a yagi that direction and see if I can verify it. Country music stations aren't of any interest to me, but that would be an interesting catch. 95.5 is about as clear a frequency as you can find in the metroplex. So many of the nearby cities like Houston have co-channels, otherwise Houston would be a relatively easy catch.
Another thing about 300 mile DX. Occasionally you have a node from a station out that far. No reason, just coincidence. I remember KFOX Gainesville Georgia made a node on I-10 near Lake City FL. More than 300 miles - absolutely repeatable with a car radio. Then 102 Jamz out of Orlando did the same thing about 50 miles East of Tallahassee. Time and time again I've gotten 300 mile FM DX out of the blue like that. Repeatable every time I drive the drive.
KWEN seems to be a powerhouse. They have a CP to go up on a taller antenna. Maybe they already did it:
