KWFM off the air?

I'm surprised anyone noticed! ;D

-Ow!-

KWFM is on 1450 now, correct?

Maybe they're still using the old 1947 model Raytheon transmitter
and it just gave up the ghost. ;D

Station off the air again for a while today. Quality. Alot of things running over each other as well. Is Alan Michaels still in charge? I heard a rumor that the station has alienated every Ad agency in Southern Arizona.

Station 1330 was not off the air on June 1. More lies by RadioWitten. AKA Chris Lidberg???? There is no rumor that 1330 has alienated every ad agency in Southern AZ. More lies.

You would think these stations would have someone who was smart enough to figure out a silence alarm. Just clueless PDs and engineers. Not to mention completely out of touch station managers. :-\

Over here in ABQ I was driving around and listened to 20 minutes of dead air on one station in the middle of the day (I like to see how long it takes to discover it). I also happend to be driving by the studios and decided to tell them. Two stations, three people, and nobody in the studio listening to see if it was on :)

You were driving around Albuquerque and stopped by the station? Guess I could assume that you live far east side of Tucson, but that is not quite clear. Not defending the station, just saying.

It is not uncommon for a station to be off due to failure of the feed if it's an equalized phoneline. Another problem might be a non responsive remote control and an engineer driving like crazy to get to the transmitter. I'm sure I have shortened my life by the anxious moments when everyone was aware of the problem, but it took some time to get to the transmitter and resolve it when there was no backup. I've tried to eliminate those issues as I've gotten older. Two items hang above my desk. A canoe paddle and a basket. That's to remind me to never be up the creek without one, and not to put all my eggs in the other.
