Magic is the owner. Styles managed the station from 2003-2006.
Styles left a year ago.

Funny... Inside Radio says "Styles." I just repeated the mistake. In any case, it appears to be sold. Of course, Styles owns 51% of the new owner, along with Potamkin and Russ Oasis, per BIA.

That deal never closed. Styles Media has had nothing to do with KWIE after April of 2006.

A good broadcaster can do some nice revenue out there. Although they might be able to simulcast KBUE and run local spots.DavidEduardo said:socamex26 said:Do I hear La Que Buena 105.5fm LA, 94.3fm OC/SFV and 96.1fm IE?
It might be a new format, since the IE is seldom bundled with LA on sales. I'd think they could make more money with a stand-alone in the 10th largest Hispanic market in the US. Of course, Entravision couldn't...
transent said:Unfortunately, KWIE (96.1) has a poor signal, especially in Riverside. I would think that Lieberman would need to try a niche spanish format that is underserved in the Inland Empire.
The trades (All Access.com) states that Magic Broadcasting keeps the KWIE calls to be transferred to KDAI (93.5). Does this mean that the "intellectual property" (format) will be retained as well?
Perhaps the best way to maximize revenue is to breakup the KDAY/KDAI simulcast and move the "Wild 96" format to KDAI (93.5) but leave KDAY (93.5) alone. The signal would allow it to better compete with KGGI (99.1).
What are your thoughts? Is there really a benefit to a simulcast in terms of revenue?
transent said:I wonder why KDAI would adopt the KWIE call letters? It seems strange to me as the station branding is "KDAY". The current KDAI call letters are just fine and I doubt the 93.5 "synchrocast" would change formats to the "Wild" format.
Perhaps there is just no explanation or there's something we don't know that time will tell?
Read All Access today. It is adopting the "Wild" format of Top 40/Rhythmic and is no longer an Urban.
