Heard this happened today. Don't know any other details.

Jeez - what the heck is going on over there in Bellevue? Is Marc Kaye on a streak of total cluster destruction?

In addition to AM drive for KWJZ they are also advertising for live jocks for 92.5. Wonder if they'll get resumes from KIXI?Ironically ... Jim Dai could easily be the best choice for KWJZ Morning show!!!? (but not probable...)

Wow, I forgot about the other stations needing jocks too! Hey does anyone know where Mitch from KLSY landed...If he has as of yet?

Mitch is still "on the beach"...Too bad about Nick...geez, was it less than a year since they lured him away from KPLU? You're right, Jim Dai could have done a great job at KWJZ. His pipes and laid back style of humor...perfect match!Sandusky is certainly in full self-destruct mode. All signs seem to point to group for sale. Cut the bottom line. Make the P & L look good. I've seen this kind of stuff before. Clean house, cut expenses and then shop it around.Start watching for engineers to inventory all the equipment. Sad twists at what was once one of the better shops in town.

Nothing like speculation with no basis in fact. A station doesn't change formats--putting billing at risk--and commit to a $1 million television campaign to support the launch of a new format when they're preparing for a sale. Use your brain, man.

I havn't had a chance to check the last years books, but is there anything to Nick not bringing ratings??? Does Carol think that she can double as Mornings and PD and still do better than what she had??? Seems a little fishy to me. Could it be that between the MOViN changeover and media buy and the pending HD conversion for the FM's in the group, budget was off and Marc is just getting heat from above to get back on budget and it is just rolling downhill from there??? But I agree, making a huge buy for a new station and then setting the group up for sale just doesn't seem in the slightest logical expecially if you are trying to improve the bottom line.

Re: KWJZ

How unprofessional......They fix the call letters on that Times weblink.......but I STILL have the Saturday PRINT EDITION that says "KWKZ" - - - HA!

Sandusky is in a pretty good position to be sold. They've had their cluster of stations for a good long time. As a player, they are on the small side but have great markets (just Phoenix and Seattle) and if BIA can be believed, bill about $63M a year between the two. Assuming they throw off about $20-25M in cash flow they could be worth between $240 - $260M. The tea leaves would indicate that they will only decline in value. It would be a good time to exit, if that's what they wanted to do.Clear Channel could bulk up here in Seattle. In Phoenix, CBS or Bonneville could each add the Sandusky stations with little trouble (though CBS has so many headaches in radio, I doubt they have the bandwidth right now). Point is that these buyers could all afford to pay a premium to bulk up their existing operations.I don't know the internal politics the station, but I do know that to attribute the pending sale of a group of stations on a jock change is a little 'out-there'.
